At 3:33 AM, ADF-10 left its containment area and went to Lazar's house. ADF-10 then aimlessly wandered around before entering Lazar's room, where Lazar was smoking weed at his desk and writing something.
ADF stated, "Lazar, you seem to be in the middle of something, but I require you for a temporary amount of time."
Lazar would promptly scream bloody murder as multiple golden hands extended from ADF-10's ring holes and grabbed Lazar, as the two of them began ascending, also causing major damage to Lazar's roof.
ADF-10 and Lazar then accelerated to 7̶̨͉̌̆̄̚1̴͙̳̞̟͠8̶̻̃̎̏͜3̶̬͉̫̝͛7̸̧̏͗̊8̴̹̑̓͛1̴̎͑͒͠ͅ2̶̫̄̂3̴͕̺̱̭́̍7̸̬̥́̄2̶̡̈͐̊̕1̶̘̥̋̔̊3̶̠͂́͒̕ miles an hour. Lazar reported being now in Heaven. ADF-10 conformed into a vaguely human-like form resembling a middle aged 40 year old caucasian male.
Lazar is given a standard tuxedo, though he still looks displeased.
The 2 would then promptly walk into an 830m x 1,320m x 2,780m Cathedral where multiple presumably angels stood on balconies lacking support.
One of the angels, floating dead center of the room, stared down at ADF-10.
"Seraphim, you stand accused of abandoning the heavenly oath. How do you plead?"
ADF-10 looked at Lazar expectantly.
Lazar responded, "What?"
ADF-10 looked annoyed. "As the protector of me down there, you protect me up here. What is the term again?"
ADF-10 paused, thinking.
"A Lawyer, I think?"
Lazar turned to the center and simply stated.
"Not Guilty."
A loud trumpet noise from an unidentifiable point rang out.
The angel looked displeased and introduced itself as The One Second to God and the Judge of this case before sitting down on the far side of the room.
The court case begins, stating that ADF-10 abandoned its virtues to protect these lowly creatures from the universal extermination. Lazar presents evidence based on showing that Humanity does more good than harm, but the angel in the place of a prosecutor is quick to show the horrendous parts of the universe, showing Nuclear Weapons and World War 2 as examples. Lazar attempts to regain the upper hand, showing how the people who did that got consequences, such as Hitler, who had his empire destroyed, and that Nuclear Weapons are not allowed to be used. The angel states directly to ADF-10 that he also caused damage to the exterminator, which was not acceptable.
Some of the other angels present, resembling a Jury, seem to be split. Lazar, at a loss for actions, calmly walks to the stand.
"I would like to present evidence to the court that Humanity has done plenty of good!"
"You may proceed."
Lazar then swiftly took out his mobile phone and opened Instagram, heading to the Reels tab, before handing it to the Jury to pass around.
"You see this? This is just one single little app on a single little piece of technology. Yeah, ok, humans can be disgusting, vile creatures. I bet that most other life forms are much more civilized. But our will to live is so strong that we've developed a program that is designed to make us slightly happier for a short amount of time! We've come very far. And I need you to consider that as you state your final decision."
The Jury seemed intrigued, fighting over who gets to scroll through Instagram Reels, whispering comments about "human humor" and the like, even letting out a laugh or a simple nose exhale.
The Judge looked confused and indecisive. Lazar turned to the Judge as he lit a slightly shriveled cigarette and handed it to her.
"Here you go, Miss Judge! This is a cigarette. You light it up on the white end and inhale the smoke through the orange end. Then you blow it out and pretend you're a dragon or something. That's what I do at least. Feels good, doesn't it? Now, cigarettes are absolutely terrible, disease-causing cancer sticks run by a corrupt global industry. But, if you look at the bigger picture, doesn't this look like a simple cry for help from humanity? We are so damn desperate to feel good in a world that is cruel and cold that we're consciously poisoning ourselves to feel some sort of comfort. We like living, and we like making the best out of it. The bad gets punished, the good always stays."
The Judge is taken by surprise. She takes a couple of puffs from the cigarette.
"Human, I was not aware your kind had come this far. We tend to look at corporeal lifeforms in an extremely simplistic manner, which might have been a great mistake. I must say, this changes things."
Lazar delivers one final plea of innocence.
"So? Isn't this great? Would you want to erase this? Humanity may be bad in some parts, but believe me, the pros outweigh the cons.
The Judge removed the cigarette from her mouth. Silence fills the room. She finally speaks.
"I will now deliver the verdict for Court Case Seraphim vs Heavenly Virtues. I rule…" It pauses. "…In favor of the Seraphim and his representative! All Heavenly business will be discussed prior to taking action if needed. Human life will be spared. Seraphim will be cleared of all prior charges, but may not return to Heaven as a resident and will instead act as a peacekeeper of human life on their planet. We will keep Earth in Heaven's Database for potential future interactions. You may rest assured, said actions will not be of bad intent. Court is adjourned!"
The Judge continues smoking while the Jury hesitantly hands back his phone. Lazar nods triumphantly, and they're both transported back to his bedroom, where Lazar's adrenaline finally runs out, and he immediately faints.
ADF-10 is reported to have returned to its normal state of eyes and wheels. ADF-10 creates a large amount of alcoholic beverages, drugs, and cigarettes/cigars to dump on Lazar's bed before returning to its station in Leeds Castle.
Lazar's roof was never fixed.
